<< return to previous page Nasser Alshaali CEO, Gulf Craft Gulf Superyacht Forum 2010 Mr. Nasser Alshaali serves as Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Craft Inc. LLC, where he oversees the region’s largest and internationally renowned fiberglass (FRP) boat manufacturer. Nasser Alshaali was previously with the Dubai International Financial Centre, where he served as CEO and was charged with developing and promoting the financial services industry. Mr. Alshaali also serves on the boards of Dubai Financial Market (DFM), The Consulting Office (Government of Dubai), The Social Responsibility Fund (Government of the UAE), Dubai Statistics Centre, the Advisory board of the School of Business and Economics, Emirates National University, member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Financial Market Development, and member of the International Institute of Finance’s Special Committee on effective Regulation. Nasser held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the DIFX, where he helped launch the region’s only international exchange. During this time, he also saw the DIFX established as the world’s largest Sukuk (Islamic bond) exchange. He was appointed to the DIFC Authority in 2004, where he was engaged in strategy, risk, performance management and special projects. This followed on from his work as a freelance Management consultant in Dubai. Mr. Alshaali moved to the UAE in 2001, when he assumed a management role with the Technology and Media Free Zone (TECOM) and subsidiaries, comprising 13 operating companies in sectors including: energy; telecoms; ICT; education; broadcast and print media. During his work with TECOM, Nasser was seconded to The Executive Office of the Government of Dubai, to help turn around Dubai TV and Al Bayan, and establish Dubai Media Incorporation (DMI). Nasser began his career freelancing as an emerging technologies consultant in Washington. During this time he also served with C&O Resources, conducting strategic research and analysis of US Mideast policy for selected governmental and private clients.
