Under the direction of Sam Brown, Knight & Carver YachtCenter has achieved successful financial results and now ranks among the world's most respected megayacht refit/repair facilities.

Since joining the company on a full-time basis in 2001, he has brought increased shareholder value and taken advantage of prime strategic opportunities. As a result, the company has firmly established itself as the leading repair/refit destination for megayachts and other large vessels along the West Coast corridor. Recognized as Boat Yard of the Year in 2007 and twice by Harvard University and Inc. Magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in the United States.

Mr. Brown and his firm had served as outside legal counsel to Knight & Carver for 14 years prior to his joining the company. He was named CEO in January 2001 and named President/CEO in January 2003.

Knight & Carver's full-service facility, located on San Diego Bay, provides an experienced workforce of 125 employees specializing in old-world craftsmanship and experience in all marine trades. In addition, a teaming agreement with a neighboring shipyard, BAE Systems, allows Knight & Carver to service the world's largest megayachts and most commercial vessels.

Originally from Massachusetts, Mr. Brown graduated from the University of Miami (Florida) School of Business, where he obtained a finance degree in 1980. He obtained his law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 1982 and has since been in practice as a founding partner of several law firms prior to joining Knight & Carver. Mr. Brown resides in Del Mar, California which his wife, Maureen, and his two children, Joseph and Brittany.
