<< return to previous page Alberto Amico Founder and Managing Director, Amico & Co Srl Global Superyacht Forum 2007 Alberto Amico was born in 1963 in Genoa; he is married and has two children. In 1988 he graduated in Automation Engineering from Genoa University. In the same time he started actively working in the commercial naval repair company Luigi Amico Srl, founded by his great-grandfather in 1885, still operational in the port of Genoa today. Since the age of five he has spent at least one month a year boating and he is a licensed yacht captain. In 1991 he founded the Amico & Co shipyard, where he is Managing Director and General Manager. Alberto developed the yard activity, introducing innovations in the shipyard layout, work organisation and shipyard technologies, as well as new quality standards. In a short time the company reached a leading position in the yacht repair industry, with an average of 140 projects per year on approx. 50,000 m2 of yard area with 85% of the clients coming from foreign markets.
